Cali Coastline

Wandering along the Cali coastline, from San Diego to San Francisco, with a few slipped in from a venture in Oregon.

Couldn’t decide which version of this image I liked better, the orange glow of sodium streetlamps or the more neutral feel of my speed light.  La Jolla Cove

Gone but Not Forgotten Part 1

I just launched a brand new website (www.garretsuhrie.com), and have streamlined the portfolios and added an archive section to catalog my travels over the years.  But in the editing process, I’ve had to cut a ton of images, so instead of them just sitting dormant on my hard drive never to be heard from again, thought I’d put up a couple posts so that they might find a home

Working Title: Junction (as of 11.03.05)

I’ve always been impressed by the colossal structures we Angelos have built to weave our way around this maze of freeways.   I imagine eons from now: long since has California sunk into the sea, history becomes legend, legend becomes myth, until one fateful day, our Atlantis will be discovered, and entrance and amaze some far off civilization.   Cairo has Pyramids, LA has overpasses, if only we had longevity.  Anyway, where the 5 meets the 405, the 10 to the 110 at the 101, this is LA in a nutshell.

LA Art Show – Opening Night Expo @ Ritz Carlton Residence

A taped conversation between David LaChapelle and myself, running in the media room adjacent the exhibition. Thanks to David for the kinds words and support (and sitting through the interview), and to George Evan and Jon Ryan for putting at all together.

One last mug shot and some well earned rest.  A special thank you to everybody who made such a wonderful evening possible!
